A Roman Adventure...

Any day is made better by steeping around a corner and witnessing the incredible Colosseum! Our first stop today was to transport ourselves back into the ancient Roman era of Emperors, Gods, and Gladiators. The Colosseum reminded us of the Roman extravagance.

We continued our travel into the past by reliving daily life in the Roman Forum. We actually got a chance to see the phrase 'all streets lead to Rome' come true!

After lunch, we were reenergized to explore another historical site, the Pantheon! The architecture of the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and the Pantheon are miraculous.
This was topped off with the vibrant energy of Piazza Navona. We collectively gasped at Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers that centres this piazza.

We ended out night relaxing on the famous Spanish Steps. We certainly made Romans aware of Canadian presence by singing our national anthem loud and proud. This inspired a group from Spain to sing their national anthem. The theme of singing national pride trickled all the way down to the base of the steps where there was another Canadian group. As they sang, we joined, and the Romans and everyone around felt our pride!

Tomorrow, we travel to Florence!!!
